Procedures

Mode of Use

  • Step 1

    Select the Pin according to the diameter of the conduit by placing it over the radiograph of the tooth. Isolate the operative field;

  • Step 2

    Remove the gutta percha from the canal using a suitable instrument. Leave at least 3 to 5 mm obturation in the root apex, due to the presence of accessory channels, which must remain sealed to prevent bacterial contamination. Prepare the root canal with suitable drills until they fit the shape of the pin;

  • Step 3

    Perform a periapical x-ray of the selected pin to verify canal preparation and obturation condition. The pin must be perfectly adapted to the preparation performed, with no spaces between the end of the pin and the gutta percha. If necessary trim the coronal pin surplus and bring it back into position to check the fit;

  • Step 4

    Clean pin with alcohol and dry. Apply 37% phosphoric acid gel (Power Etching BM4) for 15 seconds into root canal and remaining dental structure. Wash thoroughly and remove excess water with absorbent paper cones;

  • Step 5

    Apply a layer of silane on the surface of the entire pin and let it dry for one minute;

  • Step 6

    With a suitable drill, bring the resin cement to the canal. Insert the pin into the channel and light cure the cement (according to manufacturer’s specification) from the surface and through the pin;

  • Step 7

    Note that the pin should be inserted to the bottom of the prepared cavity and immobilized with accessory pins for larger channels.
